Professor Cohan will discuss themes from his forthcoming book (“Confronting Climate Gridlock”), focusing on the technologies that will be most crucial for decarbonizing energy. He will argue that actions taken to decarbonize electricity and promote electrification and clean fuels in the United States will be pivotal to mitigating climate change globally.

Speaker: Daniel Cohan, Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rice University

Daniel Cohan is an associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at Rice University and a recipient of a National Science Foundation CAREER award. He is the author of over 50 peer-reviewed publications, 70 op-ed articles, and the forthcoming book, Confronting Climate Gridlock: How Diplomacy, Technology, & Policy Can Unlock a Clean Energy Future.
