Topic: The Energy Institute and energy research at UT.A DOE sponsored study of H2@Scale in Texas
Speaker: Dr. Alan Lloyd and Ms. Riffat Manasia
Dr. Alan Lloyd worked under Gov. Schwarzenegger as Secretary of CalEPA (aka ARB) and more recently served as President of the International Council on Clean Transportation. He also served as Chairman of the ARB, and was the Executive Director of the Energy and Environmental Center for the Desert Research Institute. He earned his BS in Chemical Engineering and Ph.D. in Gas Kinetics at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK. Currently as a part time emeritus senior research fellow, he works for the Energy Institute, University of Texas, Austin, and focusses his research on hydrogen in sustainable society, renewable energy and policies to promote zero emission vehicles. Work at the Institute includes research in the areas of carbon capture, battery life, fuel cells and even fracking.
