Topic: Landfill Air NSPS Rules Update
The Federal New Source Performance Standard air quality rules for landfills were revised in 2016, tightening requirements in numerous ways. Those rules are filtering down to some newer and modified landfills now, with the rest set to follow soon. This presentation will go over these requirements and discuss the timeline of when these requirements might apply to all landfill facilities.
Speaker: David J. Mezzacappa, P.E.
David Mezzacappa is a Vice President with SCS Engineers and has been with the company for over 20 years. He graduated magna cum laude with a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a professional engineer.
David has worked with landfills throughout his career and with a focus on air quality and compliance issues. He has worked with the New Source Performance Standards for landfills for 25 years and has been carefully tracking the recent changes brought about by the new NSPS rules finalized in 2016.
